Montreal hotel supplies retailer Stull’s is accepting orders for the first time.
The online marketplace launched a week ago and is offering customers a variety of items from bath towels to shower heads and more.
“Our goal is to make it easy to get the best hotel supplies at the lowest price,” Stull CEO Dan Kuchelman told Polygon.
“There’s a lot of different hotel products out there and you need to make sure that what you buy meets your needs.
We’re hoping that with our new platform, people will be able to order as much or as little of the hotel supply as they want and we can ship them as quickly as possible.”
Kuchelmans point to the increased number of hotel rooms being booked as a positive sign that the Montreal market is thriving.
“We have the lowest hotel occupancy rate in Canada and our average price per square foot of rental property is actually the lowest in Canada, but it’s a big number,” he said.
“It’s actually lower than many cities in Canada.
We also see a significant increase in the number of people using our site to find accommodation, which is good for the hotel industry.”
The company’s website currently lists hotels in six cities: Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal.
Kuchermans website does not list prices for hotel rooms in the United States, but he said it’s possible that prices will increase there in the coming weeks.
“If we can continue to see more hotels in the U.S. that are opening up to us, then we can expect a very strong demand for our product in the future,” he told Polygon.
In the coming months, the company will also be launching a new platform for hotel reservations in the city.
This platform, called ResortCity, allows people to reserve rooms on Stulls platform for just a few hours and book them for a minimum of 90 days.
It’s expected to launch in the next few weeks.
Kucherman said Stull is working with a hotel reservation booking firm to create a marketplace that can be used for all sorts of hotel services, from catering and catering services to laundry services.
“It’s a platform where we can bring the same level of flexibility that we have now in the hotel space and bring that same flexibility to the hotel side of things as well,” he explained.
“We’re working with some really big hotels in Toronto, for example, and we’re hoping to see a lot more people use our platform for booking hotel rooms.”
